Much of our work during the outdoor season is devoted to forest management and subsequent use of the various types of wood we harvest.
Our forestry work is based on a combination of principles and practices that are briefly summed up by the following statement: It is possible for human intervention in forest ecosystems to increase overall production of biomass (wood fiber & topsoil) and improve habitat; supporting greater diversity in flora, fauna, and fungi while periodically removing a limited quantity of wood for our various uses. |
